What is the trade frequency of the Quant Picks?

If you follow the Quant Picks with our monthly email alerts, expect an average of about 3 trades per month for Canadian stocks and 5 trades per month for U.S. stocks, based on historical averages. Many subscribers use the recommendations systematically as a model portfolio; others use them as stock ideas.

To reduce the noise caused by daily data changes and keep portfolio turnover reasonable, the Quant Picks are updated monthly, and subscribers receive the additions and deletions by email each month.

How should I use the monthly email alerts?

The Quant Picks identify the top-ranked stocks in every sector. In the U.S. financials sector, for instance, they might be the stocks ranked #1 to #4. If a stock drops from #4 to #5, it leaves the Quant Picks and is replaced by the new #4. That does not make the #5 stock a bad investment: it is still one of the best in its sector.

If you do not follow the Quant Picks systematically as a model portfolio, our advice is to consider every new addition as a very serious buy candidate, but not necessarily to treat every deletion as a sell signal.

Is there a performance record for international stocks?

QDD Research covers equities listed on North American exchanges. Our primary focus is U.S. and Canadian securities, but we also assign Quant Ratings to internationally domiciled companies listed in the U.S., using the same methodology as for U.S. stocks.

Because this coverage is limited to securities listed in North America and does not represent the full global opportunity set, we do not maintain or publish an official model portfolio performance for international stocks. Given the consistency of the framework, we would expect a similar potential for alpha over time; investors should nevertheless expect more active risk relative to broad international benchmarks such as the MSCI EAFE Index, due to the narrower investable universe.

How often is the data updated?

Prices, valuation multiples, estimates and financial statements in the stock reports are updated after the close of every trading day. Quant ratings and Quant Picks are updated monthly.

How do I log in or cancel my subscription?

Select Log in and enter the email address associated with your subscription; a secure sign-in link is sent to that address. Under My account, you can update your payment method, download invoices or cancel your subscription. Access remains active until the end of the billing period already paid.
